Dietition
Louise Robins works from our rooms every Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. Patients with care plans are bulk billed and for private patients there is only a small fee, in fact the cheapest fee in and around Newcastle and Lake Macquarie. Katrina Registered Nurse
We are also very fortunate to have the very skilled Katrina join our clinical team. Katrina has been a registered nurse for 26 years and enjoys all facets of general practice. She has extensive knowledge and comes from a surgical background. She will be at the practice every Wednesday and will be leading future clinics. Please feel free to call the practice on a Wednesday if you would like to speak to her.
Katrina has successfully completed The Women’s Well Screening Course.
Katrina demonstrates clinical confidence and competence in the provision of cervical cancer screening, history taking and breast awareness.
Our Women’s Well Clinics are bulk billed and take approximately 15 – 30 minutes. Patients booking into the clinic need to be a patient of the practice. If you have not been to the practice before we ask that you book yourself into a bulk billed appointment with one of our friendly Doctors. The Doctors will take down your medication and a brief medical history check before you see the nurse.
Dr Supriya Karanam
Dr Supriya is passionate about women's health. Both Supriya's parents are gynaecologists so she has been brought up with parents caring for and treating women her whole life. Her dedication and interest in gynaecological health and her kind and gentle nature makes her the perfect choice for all your women's health needs. Dr Supriya is skilled in intrauterine devices for birth control and heavy period management. FLU CLINICS:
The 2017 QuadrIvalent Influenza Vaccines have arrived. We recommend booking in early to protect yourself from the highly contagious influenza infection. In Australia more than 3000 people die and 18000 people are hospitalised every year from influenza. Our nurse is running flu clinics every Wednesday, if this day does not suit you please call reception and book into to see the Doctor.
SKIN CHECKS:
Dr Vinay is encouraging patients to book into the practice to have their skin checked. He is motivated in the early detection of melanomas. He is setting time aside in his busy day to make skin checks a priority. Apart from facilitating early skin cancer diagnosis, the skin check is an opportunity to assess your individual risk, offer education on skin self-examination and early detection of skin cancer and ways to modify behaviours in the sun and reinforce the primary prevention message of ‘slip, slop, slap, seek and slide’.
